Who this page is for
Main contractors, hotel FF&E and project teams, fit-out firms and the designers who write their packages.
Packages
- Install-only, with free-issue material received, checked against the measure and hung to the specification.
- Wallcovering package with supply: we procure, with repeat and wastage in the order.
- Full decorating package: wallcoverings, fine painting and specialist finishes, as at Brown’s Hotel, Mayfair (2022–2024), where it included French polishing, and at Hyde London City, with paint, specialist wallcoverings and window film.
How we price
From a site survey or from drawings. Openings come out of the area; pattern repeat and wastage go in. Access, protection and making good are written into the scope, not discovered at the end. We say what has been allowed for. The allowance is typically 15–30%, depending on the pattern repeat and the layout, with staircases at the high end (around 30%) because of the angles. Extra rolls for pattern matching are confirmed at survey.
Programme and night work
Hotel work moves floor by floor or room by room around guests. Delivery of free-issue goods is timed to the hang; paper is not left in corridors. Every project has a project leader on the ground, and on a longer commission senior oversight agrees a forward plan each week. Night shifts, out-of-hours and weekend work are offered, including in live hotels.
The core team is six wallpaper hangers and six decorators, scaling to 25–35 people on large projects. At Hyde London City there were 25 people on site, in coordinated task teams covering preparation, filling, sanding, painting and hanging. Lead times depend on the project; when a client or contractor needs support quickly, the team can sometimes mobilise within two to three days.

The sample-room process
Sample room first, then the hang, then snagging, then the return visit about four to six weeks after completion, with twelve months’ cover on the workmanship of the hang. At Hyde London City the record starts with a finished sample room in November 2022 and the remaining rooms were repeated from it.
