[Request a quotation](https://www.mrwallcover.com/contact/) [See the work](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/) Commercial walls are judged at arm's length by customers and visitors, often under showroom lighting that shows every joint. The finishes on our commercial record are among the least forgiving there are: black matt vinyl, a tweed check, a colour gradient and gilded marbling. The work runs the way every commission does: a survey and a scope of works, preparation that decides the finish, protection and containment, and the same team from the first length to the return visit. We can install material you have already bought, or source a family and install it. ## Showrooms and flagship stores At [Huntsman, Savile Row](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/huntsman-savile-row/), from April 2018 to March 2019, we hung a bespoke wallpaper printed as the house's trademark tweed, and covered freestanding display boards in the same print so a suit can stand in front of its own cloth. A check on a wall shows every fault, so the lines run to a laser-set true vertical from ceiling to skirting and meet at every joint and corner. At the [Mercedes-AMG showroom](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/mercedes-amg-showroom-london/) in London, in September 2019, we supplied and fitted black matt Muraspec, finished with brushed stainless-steel trims at the doors and above the skirtings. At the [SCP showroom in Pimlico](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/scp-showroom-pimlico/), a short-term showroom in 2019, one room has a deep blue gradient mural and the other a gilded marbled wallcovering, with a flush door papered in. For [House of Hackney](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/house-of-hackney-st-michaels/), we made good and decorated the 1856 St Michael's Clergy House in Shoreditch and hung the brand's own papers through the concept rooms, ready for the public opening on 26 March 2022, after working on its previous Shoreditch showroom in 2019. At [Lee Broom's Shoreditch showroom](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/calico-lee-broom-overture/), we surveyed for Calico Wallpaper's layout and installed Overture for London Design Festival 2025. ## Retail in controlled places At [Heathrow Terminal 4](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/heathrow-terminal-4-calico/), a bespoke Calico Wallpaper landscape was hung overnight on 24–25 September 2018 in a luxury fashion house's airside store, while the terminal kept running. Airside work means vetted operatives with airside passes, tools and materials checked through security, and deliveries that follow the airport's logistics and escort procedures. ## Venues and leisure At the [Everyman cinema in Liverpool](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/everyman-liverpool/), from October to December 2018, before the opening on 18 December, we hung Muraspec's extra-wide digital prints of classic film and music imagery as single pictures from floor to ceiling, on walls prepared and lined first. At [Oxygen Freejumping, The O2](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/oxygen-freejumping-the-o2/), in September 2018, a fine-line geometric Muraspec print on wide vinyl was joined by overlap and splice: the edges hung overlapping, then cut through both layers at once and the offcuts removed, so every line runs unbroken across the joint. The [set-out and pattern matching guide](https://www.mrwallcover.com/advice/set-out-and-pattern-matching/) explains the joint. ## Fairs, launches and design weeks Event walls are hung to a date that cannot move. At [Masterpiece London](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/masterpiece-london-2019/) in June 2019 we installed a bespoke hand-crafted wallcovering on a fair stand, set out with laser levels so the outlines run from one panel to the next. For BEVERLY 1975's first London presentation, at [The Lavery](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/calico-beverly-1975-cadence/) in the Brompton Design District, Calico's Cadence went up as a feature wall in a single day on 8 September 2026. For Ahluwalia's show at Rosewood London, the [Estuary mural](https://www.mrwallcover.com/projects/calico-ahluwalia-estuary-rosewood/) was installed in a single day, the day before. ## Finishes that show everything On a dark matt finish the joints disappear only if the walls beneath are flat and the edges are cut clean, so preparation decides the result, and hands, paste and tools are kept off the face because a mark on black matt cannot be wiped away. A gradient has no pattern to hide a join, so its panels are hung in order and butted exactly. Where a wallcovering meets a trim, it is cut to the trim on one continuous line, so the trim reads as a frame rather than a cover strip. ## Contracts and the quotation There is no flat rate per roll. The quotation comes from a site survey or from drawings and reflects the measured area, the repeat and wastage, the state of the walls, the material, and access and protection, which are written into the scope rather than discovered at the end. The [installation cost guide](https://www.mrwallcover.com/advice/installation-cost/) explains each item. Risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are issued for every package, and Dorin Burcus personally supervises the site. We have experience of JCT contracts as a specialist package contractor, are registered for VAT and CIS, and send insurance details on request. The House of Hackney showroom was ready for its public opening on 26 March 2022, the Everyman cinema in Liverpool for its opening on 18 December 2018, and Calico Wallpaper's Estuary mural at Rosewood London was installed in a single day, the day before the show. ### Can you supply the wallcovering as well as install it? Yes. At the Mercedes-AMG showroom we supplied and fitted the black matt Muraspec. We can also install material you have already bought. ### What lead time do you need, and how far ahead should we book? A start date is given after the survey. If the wallcovering is free-issue, the supplier's lead time sits inside the programme, and the hang is planned around the delivery. For a scenic paper or mural, bring the installer in before the dimensions go to production, because the panels are made to the finished walls. On a tender, the tender deadline is not the requested start date: both should be stated. Lead times depend on the project. When a client or contractor needs support quickly, the team can sometimes mobilise within two to three days. ### How do you price, and what does it cost? There is no flat rate per roll. The quotation comes from a site survey or from drawings. It reflects the measured area after openings are taken off, the pattern repeat and the wastage it creates (typically 15–30%, with staircases around 30%), the state of the walls, the material, and access and protection. Access, protection and making good are written into the scope rather than discovered at the end, and the quotation says what has been allowed for. The site publishes no prices. ### Can you work nights or out of hours? Out-of-hours work is on the published record. At Heathrow Terminal 4, a bespoke Calico Wallpaper mural was hung overnight on 24–25 September 2018 in a live terminal, and the finished walls were photographed between 02:30 and 03:42. In an occupied hotel, the permitted working hours, delivery routes, guest routes and daily handover are agreed for each project and written into the scope. Most of the hotel work on record was done in buildings that stayed open. Night shifts, out-of-hours and weekend work are offered, including in live hotels. ### What insurance do you hold? Public liability, employers' liability and professional indemnity details are available on request. ### Will you work under a JCT contract? Yes. Mr Wallcover has experience of JCT contracts as a specialist package contractor, and is registered for VAT and CIS.
